Primrose Lane Alzheimer’s Care
At
Bentley Assisted Living at Northminster our goal for caring for those with
dementia is to foster the independence and dignity of each resident by
promoting and supporting the life skills of each individual.
Bentley
Assisted Living at Northminster offers special care for residents diagnosed
with Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of dementia. In this area, residents receive special
services including a more structured environment and greater safety
features. Life skill activities such
as folding clothes, setting the table, and making up their bed are a part of
the residents’ daily routines. These
activities are considered therapeutic for people with memory impairment and
aid in boosting their self-esteem by instilling a sense of accomplishment.
As
caregivers, we understand the concerns and expectations of family members. We
also understand that with this disease comes sadness and frustration, at
times. Because we understand -- and care, we encourage family
participation and actively support you and your loved one through this
disease process. Bentley Assisted
Living at Northminster is pleased to offer an Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support
Group. This meeting is sponsored
through the Greater Georgia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Each meeting focuses on the participants,
providing a forum to express their feelings, accomplishments and ask
questions about their loved ones disease.
Guest speakers, videos and handouts help facilitate the group.
The
Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group meets the last Tuesday (except December)
of every month at 7:00 p.m. at Bentley Assisted Living at Northminster. Refreshments are served and door prizes are
given away.
We of Bentley Assisted Living at
Northminster are committed to providing a therapeutic environment that
focuses on physical and emotional support that provides the dignity,
self-esteem and happiness of dementia residents. This is the hallmark that
defines the mission and philosophy of our community.
